A Set of 4 George II Cast Silver Candlesticks, London 1753 by John Cafe Silversmith_Stephen Adamsenquire An extremely fine set of cast silver George II table candlesticks in the naturalistic style. Standing on a cast, shaped base, the fluted and knopped column is surmounted with to a shaped capital. All decorated in the asymmetrical naturalistic style featuring roses, sunflowers, acanthus leaves, shells and arabesques. The raised sconces with conforming decoration. All four candlesticks identically marked underneath for London 1753 by John Cafe.

Weight - 433g or 13

The dish is in excellent condition with no repairs or erasures

Of a very good weight due to their thick gauge

The initials EAFs

all standing on a circular foot

and they stand true on a flat surface

It sits true and apart from a little rubbing to the hallmarks

One capital is marked with the lion passant

Width of silver base: 7 inches or 18cm

(see pictures) The armorial is surrounded by a beautiful floral engraved design

The candelabra are  cast and chased throughout with representations of the four elements surrounded with flowers
