through dowels and a natural food safe shellac - its solid and built to last

The lid is carved out of solid 3/4 inch Walnut and the handle is secured with a single 1/2 inch oak dowel
I should note that there is a flaw in each of these - my shop lacks permanent heat so at night when it got down to sub zero
Finished with a hand waxed shellac its meant to be used and will last a lifetime
