The deck was originally printed by Andrew Dougherty. It is a transformation deck which means that each of the cards has a unique picture. Each of the cards has a slogan to buy more Murphy Varnish. Andrew Dougherty’s famous Tally-Ho brand started in 1885 and is still printed today

The cards are slightly flexible but cannot be shuffled in a traditional matter

By 1873 Mauger started to manufacture his own brand of playing cards to supplement his supply and he altogether dropped Goodall in 1876 due to high import duties
