Neon Japanese GardensWhen I first saw this cultivar it was 100 feet away down in a shady garden, and it just glowed! I asked Nolan Blansit, the hybridizer, what he called it, and his name was perfect 'Neon'. I have since marveled at this hybrid with its attractive foliage, but more than special flowers. The plant will grow to 4 ft tall and 5 ft wide in 10 years and can take full sun, however a bit of shade will result a better plant. This cultivar is not terribly hardy

Plant in groups for a early spring show that will brighten your days

so it can go toward the front of the border for closer viewing

Useful in offering a contrast to dark green or other colors of foliage in your garden

and reputed to be one of the best yellow flowering Magnolias available today

In the garden

although ours has a ways to go to be that size

so give it barky/sandy soil and regular summer watering and it will be super happy

tall and 3 to 4 ft
