Spotted Towhee Encounter mourning cloakWith their striking markings, Spotted Towhees are always a delight to see. I glimpsed this bird during a walk in mid July in Lory State Park in northern Colorado. Perched on the branches of a fallen tree branch, it was surrounded by a patch of bee balm (Monarda fistula).
